My name is Abby Shaffer. I’m a video producer, editor, videographer, writer, and social media specialist. I graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz summa cum laude in with degrees in creative writing, and digital media production.
I have been working with various forms of digital media since 2011. My diverse skill set and portfolio make me a valuable asset both behind and in front of the camera. Some notable accomplishments include a number of short documentaries that were featured in film festivals, including “Blackbird,” which was accepted into the 2017 Woodstock Film Festival, and “Water Street Market,” which won the Award of Recognition from IndieFest in 2016.
My diverse experience allows me to be extremely flexible. When working with a new client, I adjust my style to best suit the voice of the brand. My dynamic video production style can be seen in my reel (below) as well as in the “Videos” section of my portfolio.
Because of all of my past projects, I have developed an expertise in programs including Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Avid. I am also proficient with After Effects, InDesign, and Photostop.
I am also the social media spokesperson for a wig company called Aderans Hair Goods Inc. I got in touch with Aderans after posting my first video, “Tips on Selecting Wigs for Alopecia.” Upon seeing this video, they reached out to me for a collaboration. As their social media spokesperson, I appear in their catalogs and in videos on their channel, review their wigs on my own channel, speak at seminars, and help to broaden their target audience using social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram.
